About Braden Chase

Braden Chase is a broker researcher and editor who has spent more than a decade analysing online brokers and trading platforms. He specialises in forex and CFD brokers, broker safety, fee structures and trading-platform usability, and edits OnlineBroker.ae's broker reviews and best-broker guides.

His work focuses on helping UAE residents compare brokers using practical criteria such as regulation, total fees, account opening, trading-platform quality, deposit and withdrawal options, Islamic account availability and risk-management features. He does not carry the bylines. Giles Thomas opens the funded accounts, runs the register checks and writes the reviews; Braden edits what comes back, pressing on the claims that are not yet sourced and cutting the ones that cannot be.

Two questions decide most of it for a UAE reader, and both of them are where he spends his editing time: what trading actually costs once spread, commission, swap and currency conversion are added together, and how the broker is regulated here: specifically which legal entity onboards a UAE resident, and which regulator's public register that entity can be found on.

He edits toward what an independent site can say that a broker's own marketing will not: whether you own an asset or merely hold CFD exposure to it, whether a "UAE-regulated" claim survives a look at the public register, and where the real costs are hiding.

Before moving into editing, Braden worked in trading research and covered FX and CFD markets, giving him hands-on familiarity with the platforms and order types UAE traders rely on every day.

“My goal is to help UAE traders cut through marketing and choose a broker based on regulation, real costs and how the platform actually performs.”

Areas of focus

These are the subjects the reviews and comparison guides he edits are built around, and the ones a UAE reader is most often trying to settle before opening an account.

  • Broker fees and the total cost of trading: spread, commission, overnight swap and currency conversion together, not one of them in isolation.
  • UAE broker regulation: CMA, DFSA, FSRA and VARA, and which of them a given entity is actually answerable to.
  • Trading platforms: MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView and proprietary web and mobile apps.
  • Forex and CFDs, including what CFD exposure does and does not give you.
  • Account types and AED funding: deposits, withdrawals and Islamic account availability.

Where his edit sits in the process

Nothing on this site goes out on one person's say-so. Giles Thomas writes each review from the funded account and the register checks behind it, Braden edits it, and Tomislav Turčin then fact-checks the regulatory claims against the relevant public register and the fee claims against the broker's own published schedule. Three people, on purpose.

How Braden Chase contributes to our broker research

Braden edits OnlineBroker.ae's broker reviews and best-broker guides. He checks that each claim names its source, that the regulatory wording matches the register entry behind it, that a fee figure is traceable to a schedule or to the funded account it was measured on, and that anything untested is labelled as untested rather than smoothed over.

Disclaimer

eToro is a multi-asset platform which offers both investing in stocks and cryptoassets, as well as trading CFDs.

Please note that CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. 51% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs with this provider. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs work, and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money.

UAE residents are onboarded to eToro (ME) Ltd, which holds Financial Services Permission 220073 from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority in ADGM. That entity operates no statutory investor compensation scheme: the UK's FSCS and the Cypriot ICF cover only clients of eToro's UK and EU entities and do not extend to UAE clients, and ADGM has no equivalent retail scheme. Client money is held in segregated accounts, which is not the same as being compensated if the firm fails.
