Pepperstone platform overview
Pepperstone is an Australian forex and CFD broker founded in 2010, shortlisted by active traders for pricing and platform choice. In the UAE it is licensed onshore by the CMA and in the DIFC by the DFSA; see the safety section for what each licence covers. Everything it offers is a CFD, so there are no real shares, ETFs or bonds.

Our expert verdict
For an active forex or CFD trader in the UAE, Pepperstone's pricing and platform range are hard to argue with. Pepperstone told us it offers more than 1,350 CFDs, including 90+ currency pairs, across five platforms: MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView and its own. You can choose raw-spread pricing with a separate commission on Razor, or spread-only pricing on Standard, and hold the account in dirhams. Two things should decide it for you. First, if you want to own anything (shares, ETFs, dividends, ADX or DFM listings), this is the wrong broker, and no account type here changes that. Second, be clear about what the two UAE licences get you. Both are limited in scope, and no compensation scheme covers a UAE client, so check which companies your own client agreement names before you deposit.
What to watch out for
- Under the UAE client agreement you accept more than one set of terms at signup, so check which companies your own agreement names
- No investor compensation scheme covers a UAE client. Neither the CMA nor the DFSA operates one, and the UK FSCS and Cypriot ICF cover only the clients of those entities.
- Everything is a CFD. No real shares, no real ETFs, no bonds, no fractional shares, so no ownership, no dividends and no voting rights, and no route to holding ADX or DFM shares.
- Maximum retail leverage under the onshore UAE entity is 1:200, per Pepperstone's written answer to us. Anything higher, up to 1:1000, means you have been qualified as a Professional client, and taking 1:1000 forfeits negative balance protection.
- "No inactivity fee" is true, but on a swap-free account the overnight swap is replaced by an admin charge of USD 100 per standard lot once a position has been held 5 consecutive days, recurring every 5 days after that. Pepperstone's own swap-free page and its written answer to us both give 5 days.
- Clone-firm impersonation: the FCA warning-list entry dated 21 April 2023 concerns an impersonator trading as "DIFC Investment", not Pepperstone. Check the domain before you deposit anywhere.
Key data at a glance
| Minimum deposit | $0 minimum; $10 on card, wallet and crypto |
|---|---|
| US stock fee | No real US shares: US share CFDs only, from about $0.02 per share (published figure, not our measurement) |
| EUR/USD spread | Standard: 1.0 pip measured on our own funded account, commission 0.00, on both readings we took. Two readings, not a spread study. Razor: 0.0 pips + $3.50 per side, published figures we have not tested |
| Deposit fee | None |
| Withdrawal fee | None |
| Account opening time | Live account approved under a minute after our ID scan (measured, 21 Aug 2026) |
| Base currencies | USD, EUR, GBP, AED |
| Regulated by | CMA (UAE), DFSA (DIFC) |
| Investor protection (UAE clients) | None for UAE clients: neither the CMA nor the DFSA operates an investor compensation scheme, and the UK FSCS and Cypriot ICF cover only the UK and Cyprus entities' own clients |
| Demo account | Yes |
| Islamic account | Yes: swap-free on request, confirmed by Pepperstone in writing |
Pros
- Two UAE licences and a Dubai office, so there is a locally licensed firm to deal with and a UAE register entry you can check
- Razor is real raw-spread pricing: 0.0 pips reported on EUR/USD plus $3.50 per side, $6.00 per round turn on cTrader
- AED is a real base currency and the local AED wire works: we funded AED 200 through it at a 0.00 fee with no conversion
- The widest platform choice in this comparison: MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView and Pepperstone's own platform
- No deposit fee, no withdrawal fee and no inactivity fee
- Nothing was deducted in transit on our own money: AED 200 in and AED 398 out, both at a fee of 0.00, with the full amount arriving in our UAE bank
- $0 minimum deposit, so the entry cost is the size of trade you want rather than an account threshold
- Swap-free on request: Pepperstone told us so in writing, though no UAE page publishes it and we have not requested or captured it. The account application itself is localised in Arabic
Cons
- CFD-only: no real shares, ETFs or bonds, so no ownership, no dividends and no voting rights
- No investor compensation scheme covers a UAE client
- Leverage runs far above EU/UK retail limits: our own two live accounts were set to 1:200 and 1:500, the new-account form offered up to 1:1000, and qualifying for that ceiling took one self-certified declaration with no approval step we could see
- No route to owning ADX or DFM shares
- On a swap-free account the swap is replaced by a USD 100 admin charge per standard lot once a position has been held 5 consecutive days, recurring every 5 days on FX and precious metals
- The reported 0.01% currency conversion did not hold on our own account: one internal USD-to-AED transfer filled at 3.635775 against the 3.6725 peg, about 1% of the amount moved. One transfer, one direction
How we tested Pepperstone
We opened a Pepperstone account as a UAE resident, funded it twice (AED 200.00, and a second transfer that reached the account as USD 54.50, which is where the AED 398 withdrawal figure comes from once the dollars were converted back), traded it and withdrew AED 398, between 20 and 27 August 2026, and the great majority of the screenshots here are from that live funded account. We funded an AED account through the domestic AED rail and ran a deposit-to-withdrawal round trip, and both are timed and evidenced above.
Safety, regulation & UAE legal entity
Pepperstone holds two UAE licences, and both are limited in scope: Pepperstone Financial Services L.L.C holds a CMA Category 5 licence (December 2025) for financial consultations and introducing clients, while Pepperstone Financial Services (DIFC) Ltd, under DFSA F004356, may only arrange deals in futures and crypto tokens. Under the UAE client agreement you accept more than one set of terms at signup, with the UAE agreement prevailing where they conflict (cl. 11.14), so check which companies your own agreement names. Client money is kept apart from Pepperstone's own funds, but no compensation scheme covers you if the firm fails; Pepperstone confirmed this to us in writing. Negative balance protection is conditional too: accounts above 1:200 are classed as Professional, and choosing 1:1000 leverage removes it altogether, per Pepperstone's own answer. Australia owns the group (cl. 1.4) but does not regulate your account. So the UAE licences get you in the door, but no compensation scheme protects you if something goes wrong.
On the CMA register. Pepperstone Financial Services L.L.C, company code CP-0001424, status Active, established 6 February 2025. Licensed activities: Financial Consultations and Introduction.

What you actually sign
Safety signals

Account opening
The whole process is online, and the application is available in Arabic, not just the marketing pages, as is common with UAE brokers. You need an Emirates ID or passport, plus a DEWA bill or bank statement for proof of address.
The broker says it takes 10 to 15 minutes to apply and one to three working days for approval. In our test, the live account was ready about 50 seconds after the ID scan, and proof of address was approved the same day. The profile was created the day before, while funding cleared on 26 August.
- 1 Start the application
About 10 to 15 minutes online, and the form is available in Arabic. You choose your entity, account type and base currency: AED, USD, EUR or GBP.
- 2 Verify your identity
Emirates ID or passport, plus proof of address. A DEWA bill or a recent bank statement is accepted.
- 3 Wait for approval
Quoted at one to three business days. Ours was faster: the live-account email arrived at 12:59 on 21 Aug 2026, about fifty seconds after the ID scan.
- 4 Fund the account
No minimum, though $200 is recommended and card or wallet deposits start at $10. Local AED transfer is the route to use if the domestic AED rail is available to you.

Web & desktop platform
Pepperstone supports MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView and its own web platform. We also completed a live EUR/USD trade on an AED Standard account: 0.01 lots, closed in the same minute for a net loss of AED 0.15, with no separate commission.
API and copy trading is available for UAE clients.

Mobile app
Pepperstone has its own mobile app, alongside MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradingView apps. We used it on a live account but did not place a trade. It supports biometric login, passcode protection, stop loss and take profit. One-tap trading is available but was off by default.

UAE-specific features
Pepperstone's genuine UAE advantages are real: a true AED base currency with local funding, Arabic support, and an Arabic application form rather than just translated marketing pages. But the licences behind that are the same arranging-only ones covered above, so none of it changes who holds your money or protects it if the firm fails. There's no compensation scheme, everything you trade is a CFD, and UAE-specific leverage is still unconfirmed on our own account. Our own measurement also came in worse than advertised: converting USD to AED cost us about 1%, not the 0.01% Pepperstone reports.
One local perk we haven't tested ourselves: Pepperstone says its 20 commission-free trades offer is open to UAE retail clients.

Customer support
Pepperstone offers live chat, WhatsApp, email and phone, with Arabic support listed across channels. Its Arabic application form goes beyond translated marketing pages.
We tested WhatsApp: after bot screening, a human agent replied in 24 minutes. Our funds were released soon after. They offer Arabic support, live chat or the phone line.
Research & education
Pepperstone's Learn to trade hub runs from beginner basics to advanced strategies, and is breadth of written material rather than structured courses. We captured it on 17 August 2026 and haven't worked through it.
Best alternatives to Pepperstone in the UAE
| Broker | Best for | Overall score | UAE regulator | Minimum deposit | Swap-free account |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Interactive BrokersReal shares, ETFs, bonds and options rather than CFDs, DFSA regulation in the DIFC and AED funding: the direct answer to Pepperstone's CFD-only limitation. | Best for owning real assets | 4.5 | DFSA | $0 | No |
| eToroGenuine share and ETF ownership on unleveraged positions, copy trading available to UAE clients, and ADX and DFM listings through its ADGM-licensed entity. | Best for beginners and copy trading | 4.4 | FSRA | $100 (≈ AED 367) | Yes |
| AvaTradeA long-established swap-free offering under an FSRA (ADGM) licence, settled before you open rather than requested afterwards, though it runs about five days before an administration fee replaces the swap. | Best Islamic-account alternative | 4.2 | FSRA | $100 (≈ AED 367) by bank transfer | Yes |
Verdict
Pepperstone scores 4.5/5 as a low-cost CFD broker for active UAE traders. It offers raw-spread pricing (0.0 pips plus $7 per round turn on Razor, 1.0 pip measured on Standard), five platforms, AED accounts and free deposits and withdrawals, and our AED withdrawal arrived in full in about 19 hours. It is licensed onshore by the CMA and in the DIFC by the DFSA. No compensation scheme covers UAE clients, and leverage up to 1:1000 is easy to unlock. Everything is a CFD, so there is no real share ownership or access to ADX or DFM listings, and our USD-to-AED conversion cost about 1% rather than the advertised 0.01%. A strong choice for active forex and CFD traders, but not for investors, who should look at Interactive Brokers or eToro instead.
